Treatment philosophy
Dr. Oh is the founder and Chief Dental Officer of Smart Arches Dental Implant Centers, ORCAA (Operation Re-Dentulate Central America) a philanthropic organization that provides dental implants to Central Americans, and the Smile Back Foundation, a public charity that funds invasive jaw reconstruction surgery and cleft lip and palate surgery to Central Americans. As a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dr. Oh has special interest in dental implant surgery, the All-on-X full-mouth reconstruction concept, and zygomatic implants. With Dr. Oh’s unique skill set acquired from training around the world, he leaves no patients behind, even if they have “no bone.”
Dr. Oh’s dedication to his patients is exceptional, as he was voted Top Dentist in Philadelphia Magazine six years running (2019-2024) and Top Doctor by Pennsylvania Magazine. He has also been selected as one of the top 40 dentists under 40 in the U.S. by Incisal Magazine for his clinical skills, involvement in education, and leadership in the dental field. Another highlight is that he was named as one of Marquis Who’s Who in America in 2022 and won their Humanitarian Award for the year.
Beyond the work Dr. Oh does in the USA, he also founded charitable organizations in Central America. As the first person in Central America to perform Zygomatic, Pterygoid, and Transnasal implants, Dr. Oh is the founder of ORCAA (Operation Re-Dentulate Central America), which provides full dental implants to Central Americans, and has trained many Central American Surgeons on these procedures so they may benefit their patients. To date the organization has ended over 2000 years of toothlessness. Further, Dr. Oh is the founder of the Smile Back Foundation, which provides microvascular jaw reconstruction for untreated jaw tumors, cleft lip and palate, and many other invasive surgeries to Central Americans who don’t have access to these vital procedures in their countries.
Dr. Oh lectures, mentors, and trains doctors, nationally and internationally, on implant surgery on a regular basis for many different implant companies. He focuses on delivering the highest quality, empathetic care to his patients in the most pain-free manner possible.
Education and background
Dr. Simon Oh grew up in Maryland where he received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland – College Park in physiology and neurobiology. He then graduated with honors from the University of Maryland Dental School, achieving the highest national Board scores in his class. He was a member of several honors societies, including the OKU honors society, and won scholarships for academic and clinical achievement.
After finishing his dental education, Dr. Oh furthered his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. There he received extensive inpatient and outpatient training in conditions ranging from impacted wisdom teeth and dental implants, to major facial reconstructive surgery. Dr. Oh is also a published author in the Journal of Maxillofacial Trauma, Annals of Medicine and Surgery, and multiple textbooks.
Home life
Dr. Oh enjoys traveling, golfing, and spending time with his wife Sophie, son Cameron, daughter Claire, and their two dogs, Max and Mandi. Fun fact: While studying to become a dentist, he was the lead guitar player of a band named InciDental.
