What If I’ve Been Told That I Don’t Have Enough Bone?
When patients are told by other centers that they do not have enough bone for dental implants, our expert surgeons are able to achieve success for them because they are experienced in the most complex cases where zygomatic implants are required, omitting unnecessary bone grafting.
Zygomatic implants are specially designed implants, longer than conventional implants, that are anchored in the dense bone of cheek bones (Zygoma) to support upper teeth and bridges. Our dental surgeons specialize in this procedure and can typically send a patient home with a new set of teeth the very next day.
Zygomatic Procedure
Pre-Surgical Planning
We begin with advanced 3D CBCT scans to create a detailed surgical plan, ensuring each implant is placed with pinpoint accuracy before we even begin the procedure.
The Surgery
During the procedure, we place specialized long implants directly into the dense zygomatic bone near your cheekbone. This approach typically combines two zygomatic implants, one on each side of your upper jaw, with two to four traditional implants positioned toward the front where your upper front teeth were located. If you have any remaining teeth that need removal, we can extract them during the same surgery, eliminating the need for multiple appointments.
Immediate Results
The combination of zygomatic and traditional implants creates an exceptionally stable foundation for your upper bridge. Unlike regular jawbone that can deteriorate over time, the cheekbone maintains its density and strength. This allows us to place your new teeth on the same day as surgery in most cases, giving you an immediate transformation. Once the implants fuse with the bone, you’ll have a durable, functional smile that can last for decades.
